Neurotropin Research Study
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research
is conducting a study on the use of Neurotropin to treat acute
dental and pain associated with complex regional pain syndromes
I and II (RSD and Causalgia). Neurotropin is a medication
that is used currently in Japan to treat RSD and other painful
conditions.
Subjects are now being recruited for this outpatient, double
blind, placebo-controlled crossover study. For the initial
trial of this drug in the United States, individuals who have
been diagnosed within one year with CRPS Type I or II in only
one limb can be referred by their physician. Also, an option
has been approved for those patients who complete the trial
and request an additional month on the agent placebo or active
drug that resulted in apparent improvement.
