CRPS and Sexuality: Patient Perspectives on Communication with Medical Professionals
Dear Listserv Members,
My name is Michelle Ballan and I am an Assistant Professor at the Columbia University School of Social Work. I am conducting a research study on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and female sexuality. I am writing to invite you to participate in our study.
To be eligible to participate, you must be a female over 18 years of age with active CRPS as diagnosed by a medical professional. If you agree to participate, you can contact me at (917) 406-1446 or email me at msb2008@columbia.edu. I will then send you a consent form. Upon receipt of your consent form, I will contact you to schedule an interview. The interview will be permit you to reflect upon your thoughts about your needs and the needs of other female CRPS patients regarding sexuality-related issues and communication about sexuality with medical professionals. You may be interviewed in your own home (if you are a resident of New York City) at Columbia University, or over the phone. Interviews will take approximately 60-90 minutes. You will be compensated $20 for your time.
